Hello World

Tonight marks another signpost for me and my band mates along the 16+ year journey that has been FREERIDER. Jeremy (drums), Steve (guitar) & I will take the stage at 9:00pm tonight at the legendary Copperfield's Bar in the historic Fenway district of Boston.

This would be just another show for most bands but the time, effort, commitment and willingness of many supporters is what really made this a monumental occasion for FREERIDER. Let's just say that if you believe in something bigger that yourself, it intervened to make tonight possible!

As with most writers, the best way for me to relate my feelings about this to anyone is with lyrics and none really sum this occasion up better than words I penned 15 years ago for "Brand new Revelation".

BRAND NEW REVELATION

By FREERIDER

Lyrics by Todd Erickson (BMI)

Music by Todd Erickson, Steven Coyne, Jeremy Waybright (BMI)

Hello world

It’s nice to meet you

After all this time

Been my whole life

Playing Atlas

Today I’ve changed my mind

Got up off my knees

Where I had petrified

My own Gethsemane

Giving me the strength to break the stone from my sides

I got a Brand New Revelation

And it’s keeping me alive

I got a Brand New Revelation

And I need it to survive… now I can say…

Hello my friend

My exiled brother

I know your forlorn face

Your endless trials

Your Ivory Tower

You’re not so out of place

We’ve all been on our knees

We’ve all been petrified sometime

Praying for a savior

Someone to come along to break the stone from our side

I got a Brand New Revelation

And it’s keeping me alive

I got a Brand New Revelation

And I need it to survive Chorus outro (4X)

Gotta run! Steve is at getting in to Boston at 6:00 on the train... His post about the show is here: http://www.afreeridersjourney.com/

Peace, drums & guitars.

Meet the "Shreducator".

Please allow me to introduce Steve "The Shreducator" Coyne, my partner in crime/music/internet debauchery and band mate in our 15 year musical partnership "FREERIDER".

Turns out that besides being a monster musician and becoming my best friend over the years, he is a pretty damn good writer, too!

Thanks for the ride.
